Free checked bags for United Cardmembers

United primary Cardmembers can check bags for free on United and United Express® flights. If you are traveling with a guest on the same reservation, they can also check their bags for free.

To receive this benefit, you must:

Use your card

Buy the tickets with your qualifying United MileagePlus card.*

Add your MileagePlus number

Go to My trips and make sure your MileagePlus number is on the reservation.

* This rule does not apply to new cardmembers traveling on flights within the first 90 days.
