MileagePlus Premier Status Match Challenge
We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to participate in our 2025 MileagePlus® Premier® Status Match Challenge, offering top-tier flyers of many other airlines a way to quickly reach comparable status in the MileagePlus program. This offer is valid for requests received between January 8, 2025, and June 30, 2025.
Program details
After you have successfully submitted the required documentation and we have confirmed you meet the criteria to participate in the Premier Status Match offer, you will be upgraded to Premier Silver, Premier Gold, or Premier Platinum status for 120 days (the “Challenge Period”), based on the level you hold in your current frequent flyer program, within five to seven business days after completing an Activating Flight. An "Activating Flight" is a flight operated by United or United Express® that is completed within 90-days after the documentation that you submit for this offer is approved and the flight is posted to your MileagePlus account. Individuals who do not complete an Activating Flight in the required time period, will no longer be eligible for the Premier Status Match offer, and are not eligible to again submit for a Premier Status Match in the same calendar year.

To keep the matched Premier status for the remainder of the 2025 program year, you will need to earn a certain number of Premier qualifying flights (PQF) AND Premier qualifying points (PQP) on flights operated by United or United Express® within the Challenge Period.* The number of both PQF and PQP you must earn depends on the Premier status level you are matched to in MileagePlus.

To be considered for Premier status through this offer, please complete this MileagePlus Premier Status Match Challenge form. We will send you an email to let you know if your request is approved.
Required information:
- MileagePlus account number (If you are not yet a member, join today.)
- Valid email address on your MileagePlus account.
- A digital copy of your 2025 membership card, including membership cards stored in the digital wallet on your phone or your airlines mobile app version, for the frequent flyer program you are matching from.
- The membership card must clearly identify your:
- full first and last name
- current elite status
- current elite status expiration date or validity period, which must be valid through the duration of the current calendar year.
- the frequent flyer number
- the frequent flyer program and/or airline name
Please allow 7-14 business days for a response. If approved, your account will be upgraded to the matched level in MileagePlus after completing an Activating Flight, which must be flown within 90-days after document approval.
Please note:
- Offer is not valid for members who have participated in the MileagePlus Status Match program or received a Premier status exception within the last 5 years.
- Members who hold elite status because of a trial or temporary elite status in the other airline program are not eligible for the MileagePlus Premier Status Match program.
- Premier membership materials will not be issued for the Challenge Period. You may enjoy Premier benefits on United- or United Express-operated flights by providing your account number when making reservations or at check-in. During the Challenge Period, you may not have access to all reciprocal Premier benefits with United's partner airlines, including access to Star AllianceTM lounges.
- Through this offer, you will not be able to qualify for a higher Premier status level than the one matched to in MileagePlus. For example, if you are matched to Premier Silver, you will not be able to earn Premier Gold status through this offer, even if you will fly more than the 5 PQF and earn more than 1700 PQP on flights operated by United or United Express during the Challenge Period. However, you will be able to qualify to a higher status level if you reach one of the published qualification thresholds for Premier status.
- Upon meeting the PQF and PQP requirements to qualify for Premier Platinum status through this offer, members will be awarded 20 PlusPoints, which will be credited to their account within 7-10 business days. PlusPoints will not otherwise be awarded based on matched status or status reached through the MileagePlus Premier Status Match challenge.
- If you are unable to complete both the PQF and PQP requirements within the Challenge Period, your matched MileagePlus Premier status will expire, and you may be returned to a lower earned Premier level, or general member status, at United's sole discretion.
- Qualifying PQF and PQP must be posted to your MileagePlus account.
Earned 2025 Premier status: Members who earn Premier status through this offer will have their accounts updated in the system within 5-7 business days of completion and posting of the outlined PQF and PQP requirements for the status level matched to in MileagePlus. Earned 2025 Premier status is valid through January 2026. The MileagePlus status is valid through January 2027 for members who earn Premier status through this offer on or after July 1, 2025.
*For members who meet the PQP and PQF requirement of this offer on or after July 1, 2025, status is valid through January 2027, unless a higher Premier level is earned. Go to united.com/premier for more information on the MileagePlus Premier program.
Terms and conditions
Offer Eligibility:
- Offer is not valid for members who have participated in the MileagePlus® Status Match program or received a Premier Status Exception within the last 5 years.
- To request a MileagePlus Status Match, a participant must be an authenticated member of MileagePlus and hold an active account with an eligible airline and have an eligible elite level valid for the current calendar year. Members who have qualified for their current elite level with the other airline due to meeting published criteria, lifetime status awards or completion of a promotional offer are eligible for the Status Match program. Members who hold elite status because of a trial or temporary elite status in the other airline program, are not eligible for the MileagePlus Premier Status Match program. Requests from members who otherwise meet the criteria for a Premier Status Match will not receive such status if the member already holds equivalent or higher status in the MileagePlus Program. Members who have recently enrolled in MileagePlus and have not yet authenticated their account may not be eligible to participate in this offer. United reserves the right to request supplemental documentation from participants to determine Status Match eligibility.
- United reserves the right to rescind any Status Match granted, if during the course of an audit or investigation United determines that an individual has merged their MileagePlus accounts and both accounts had a status match within the past 5 years, created a MileagePlus account using false contact information, submitted altered documentation or documentation for a Premier level or airline which the member does not hold earned status, used a broker or agency to submit the Premier Status Match request or is otherwise in violation of the MileagePlus program rules.
Activation Criteria- 120-day complimentary Premier status:
- Members who have successfully submitted the required documentation and who have met the eligibility criteria to participate in the Premier Status Match offer must complete an Activating Flight before being granted Premier Silver, Premier Gold or Premier Platinum status, based on the level they hold in their current frequent flyer program. Such status will become effective within five to seven business days after completing an Activating Flight. An "Activating Flight" is a flight operated by United or United Express® that is completed within 90 days after the documentation that you submit for this offer is approved and the flight is posted to the member’s MileagePlus account. Flights on tickets that do not earn Premier qualifying credits do not qualify for meeting the requirements of this offer. Members who do not complete an Activating Flight in the required time period, will no longer be eligible for the Premier Status Match offer, and are not eligible to again submit for a Premier Status Match in the same calendar year.
- Complimentary Premier status will be effective for 120 days starting from the date of the Activating Flight ("Challenge Period").
- If during the registration process, the member identifies themselves as having flown on a United or United Express flight(s) in the past 30 days, that has already posted to their MileagePlus Account and has a flight date on or after January 1, 2025, we will complete a one-time review, and if eligible, we will consider it the Activating Flight. If a member has more than one United flight in the past 30 days, we will consider the earliest flight flown as the Activating Flight. This request may only be made at the time of document submission.
- Premier membership materials will not be issued for the Challenge Period. Members may enjoy Premier benefits on United- or United Express-operated flights by providing their account number when making reservations or at check-in. During the Challenge Period, members may not have access to all reciprocal Premier benefits with United's partners, including access to Star Alliance lounges.
- Participation does not guarantee Premier status. Matched status will expire after the Challenge Period, unless the matched level or a higher level of Premier status is earned or awarded prior to the end date.
- If the member is unable to complete the PQF and PQP requirement within the Challenge Period, their matched MileagePlus Premier status will expire, and they may be returned to a lower earned Premier level, or general member status, at United's sole discretion.
Qualification Criteria- Earn Premier status through this offer.
- Offer only valid on flights operated by United and United Express. Not valid on United-marketed codeshare flights operated by other carriers. Flights must be posted to the MileagePlus account in order to qualify. PQP earned for the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges count toward this offer. PQP and PQF earned from United and United Express travel on MileagePlus Award tickets or where members have selected Money + Miles as their payment option are eligible towards this offer. PQP earned from Economy Plus seating, preferred seat purchases, MileagePlus Upgrade Award co-pays, paid upgrades do count towards this offer. PQP earned from Economy Plus subscriptions, promotional PQF or PQP, PQP earned from conversion of other currencies, and/or credit card PQF or PQP do not count toward this offer. Basic Economy tickets earn PQP but do not earn PQF. Other restrictions may apply. Offer subject to change without notice.
- PQP and PQF earned from the member’s Activating Flight will count toward activity completed within their Challenge Period.
- Qualifying PQF and PQP must be posted to the member’s MileagePlus account.
- If the member requests to have United flight activity that was completed within their Challenge Period, including their Activating Flight, removed from their account such that the offer requirements are not met, any status matched or earned via the MileagePlus Premier Status Match offer will be removed, and they may be returned to a lower earned Premier level, or general member status, at United's sole discretion.
- Through this offer, members will not be able to qualify for a higher Premier status level than the one they are matched to in MileagePlus, even if they fly more than the qualifying travel requirements during the Challenge Period. However, members will be able to qualify to a higher status level if they reach one of the published qualification thresholds for Premier status.
- Customers who earn Premier status through this offer will have their accounts updated in the system within 5-7 business days of completion and posting of the outlined PQF and PQP requirement for the status level matched to in MileagePlus.
- Earned 2025 Premier status is valid through January 2026. The MileagePlus status is valid through January 2027 for customers who earn Premier status through this offer on or after July 1, 2025.
- Upon meeting the PQF and PQP requirements to qualify for Premier Platinum status through this offer, members will be awarded 20 PlusPoints, which will be credited to their account within 7-10 business days. PlusPoints will not otherwise be awarded based on matched status or status reached through the MileagePlus Premier Status Match challenge.
- Miles accrued, awards and benefits issued are subject to change and are subject to the rules of the United MileagePlus program, including without limitation the Premier program (the "MileagePlus Program"), which are expressly incorporated herein. United may change the MileagePlus Program including, but not limited to, rules, regulations, travel awards and special offers or terminate the MileagePlus Program at any time and without notice. United and its subsidiaries, affiliates and agents are not responsible for any products or services of other participating companies and partners. Taxes and fees related to award travel are the responsibility of the member. Bonus award miles, award miles and any other miles earned through non-flight activity do not count toward qualification for Premier status unless expressly stated otherwise.
