United’s information page about corporate facts and leadership bios

United is the largest airline in the world. Our 100,000+ employees help 175 million customers get to more than 360 destinations across six continents each year.

Largest Airline in the World

United is officially the largest airline1 in the world, connecting passengers to more than 360 destinations and is the only U.S. legacy carrier that flies to nearly 75 destinations around the world.

The Flag Carrier of the United States

United is the leading carrier across the Atlantic and Pacific, offering direct flights to international cities in Asia and Australia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.

Historic Growth through United Next

As part of our United Next growth plan, we hired more than 11,000 employees in 2024 and expect to take delivery of hundreds of new planes through 2032, the most among U.S. carriers.

Industry-Leading Loyalty Program

130+ million MileagePlus members can earn travel benefits, Premier status and use miles to pay for flights, hotels, cars, gift cards, snacks, entertainment and more. United miles never expire and there are no blackout dates for award seats.

United Aviate Academy

United is the only major U.S. airline to own its own flight training school, where we have some of the highest standards in the industry and have expanded our pilot recruiting efforts to hire the best-of-the-best to develop the next generation of talented, motivated aviators.

Elevating the Customer Experience

Starlink is the world's fastest, most reliable Wi-Fi in the sky and United is the only major U.S. airline that has it, with the first commercial flights expected to take flight in 2025. The game-changing Starlink service will eventually be on the entire fleet. With screens in every seat, enough overhead room for everyone's carry-on, Bluetooth connectivity, and United Polaris business class features like lie-flat seats, custom Saks Fifth Avenue bedding and Therabody Amenity kits, the experience of flying United is best in class.

Net Zero by 2050

United has pledged to reduce its GHG emissions 100% by 2050 without relying on voluntary carbon offsets. We see the impact these intiatives can have on our bottom-line—we're the only U.S. airline with a venture fund with a portfolio of everything from green hydrogen, carbon capture, power-to-liquids, new forms of batteries, electric-hybrid aircraft and biofuels. We've also raised more than $200 million in committed capital to support start-ups focused on SAF production and other technologies.
