Damaged bags

Use this claim form to request reimbursement if you have already reported your damaged bag. You'll need your file reference number, that ends in D (ORD12345D). Learn more about and how to report them.

We're not liable if you have a damaged bag because of:

  • An existing defect with the bag
  • The bag’s poor quality
  • Overpacking the bag
  • Ordinary wear and tear

Present a clear copy of a driver's license or other ID.

Step 3: Get your reimbursement

Claims are usually processed within 4-6 weeks.

Reimbursement for expenses will be based upon acceptable proof of claim. Contact the Baggage Resolution Center for more information.

For international travel to which the Montreal Convention applies, liability for loss, delay, or damage is limited to 1,288 Special Drawing Rights (SDR) per passenger for checked and unchecked baggage. Exchange rates are available at www.IMF.org
