Our planes have a variety of accessibility features, including movable armrests, accessible bathrooms, and cargo door sizes that can accommodate wheelchairs. Use our tool to learn more about what your plane offers.

Airplane accessibility FAQ
How you move an armrest depends on the plane. Some armrest release buttons can be found under the armrest cover near where it attaches to the seat. To find the button, feel along the bottom of the armrest cover. Pressing this will move the armrest up. To put the armrest back, simply push it down.
Other armrest release buttons can be found on the side of the armrest facing the seat. Press this button to move this armrest up. To put the armrest back, just push it back down into place.
If you have trouble moving an armrest yourself, ask a flight attendant for help.
If you have a manual wheelchair or mobility device that folds or collapses, it can be stored in cabin. When you pre-board, ask an United agent to place your device in an onboard closet or other space. All other mobility devices will be transported in the cargo area.
